Overview of the internal sterilization system of the cartons

For the sterilization of the inside of the box, our gable top cartons filling equipment adopts the combination of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) sterilization + ultraviolet ray sterilization+ Aseptic Chamber

The rooftop box filling equipment first sterilizes the entire machine with alcohol. After the cardboard boxes are formed, they undergo sterilization inside the boxes using a combination of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), hot air, and ultraviolet light. The filling process is conducted in a sterile room, where clean air ensures a pressure difference between the inside and outside, guaranteeing the cleanliness of the filling air. This method effectively achieves sterilization.

Hydrogen peroxide is a powerful disinfectant and bactericide certified by the EPA. It can penetrate the cell wall through passive diffusion and then denature proteins, DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) and other parts of bacterial cells. It can be decomposed into oxygen and water, is harmless to the environment, and has no toxic byproducts. It can effectively kill Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus albus, bacterial spores, natural bacteria and live viruses.

The sterilization system for inner of the box is located in a extra space of machine and is equipped with a separate air supply and exhaust system.

Hydrogen peroxide is supplied through a peristaltic pump and a diaphragm valve to control the flow rate, and is mixed with clean gas for atomization and vaporization to increase activity and speed up the killing speed. Auxiliary gas is equipped in the gas circuit to ensure that the inside of the box is fully covered with hydrogen peroxide.

After spraying, the carton is dried with treated clean hot air, and ultraviolet irradiation is used for secondary sterilization.

Ultraviolet sterilization uses ultraviolet rays with a wavelength of 250~270μm to destroy the molecular structure of DNA or RNA (ribonucleic acid) in the cells of microorganisms, causing growth cell death and (or) regenerative cell death, achieving the effect of sterilization disinfection.

Precautions

  1. When working nearby, make sure you have put on goggles, gloves and other necessary protective clothing to avoid contact between hydrogen peroxide and skin and eyes, and avoid looking directly at the ultraviolet light source.
  2. Hydrogen peroxide should not contain stabilizers. When hydrogen peroxide and ultraviolet light are used at the same time, use food-grade hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) with a concentration of 1%. When ultraviolet light is not used, use food-grade hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) with a concentration of 35%.
